P.E.A.C.H Outreach Program

The P.E.A.C.H. Program (Progressive Efforts & Approaches to Combat Homelessness) was developed around research, best practices, input from homeless youth, and our vast experience working to meet the needs of Runaway, Unsupervised/Unaccompanied, Street and Homeless (R.U.S.H.) youth within the city.

The approaches and strategies associated with the P.E.A.C.H. Program are specifically geared towards radically addressing the diverse needs of homeless Metropolitan Atlanta youth and young adults and supporting their paths to exit homelessness and become self-sufficient. In 2020, in a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we expanded street outreach services to serve unsheltered homeless adults, families, seniors, veterans, and other individuals with underlying health conditions that put them in the high-risk category for contracting the virus.

We provide street outreach 5-days per week where we offer meals, hygiene items, PPE, and linkages to care and housing.

P.E.A.C.H Residential Housing Program

P.E.A.C.H. Residential is a high-accountability independent living and supportive housing program for young men ages 18 – 24.

The program was developed by Ujima Way, Inc. in 2018 as an extension of its Progressive Efforts and Approaches to Combat Homelessness (P.E.A.C.H.) program. P.E.A.C.H. Residential assists young men who are homeless, aging out of foster care, being released from jail or prison or who find themselves in some other crisis and need housing.

Young men can remain in the program for up to 18 months and pay nominal program fees for their residency. Our goal is to help them get stabilized and back on their feet and eventually transition into their own home or apartment and be able to sustain a comfortable way of living.

H.O.V.E.R. Program: Homeless Outreach Vehicle

In March of 2020 we ramped up efforts to address the void in services to unsheltered homeless citizens through our Progressive Efforts and Approaches to Combat Homelessness (P.E.A.C.H.) outreach initiative. Through this initiative we provide street outreach services via our Homelessness Outreach Vehicle and Emergency Responder (H.O.V.E.R.) to targeted zones and encampments where homeless people live or congregate by providing meals, hygiene kits, PPE, clothing, and linkages to care and housing.
